Lucas makes Poor Choices!

Once upon a time, Lucas was playing with his cell phone under a blanket.

But there was a problem…

...when his screen time was ended, he started doing unexpected stuff.

So there are many stuff that happened, so we want to sort these in chapters.

Chapters:

Chapter 1: Broken Decorations

Chapter 2: Bought without Permission

Chapter 1: Broken Decorations

Lucas had an idea: He wanted to break Tou Tou’s belongings. But that is mean. You should never break your parent’s belongings.

But then…

“Hey! What are you doing with that? Did you ask to take my things? This is not a toy. Also, it doesn’t look like you’re going to be gentle with that. Please put it away”.

But he didn’t follow Tou Tou’s rules.

Until…

Tou Tou’s belongings fell on the floor. They got broken. But Lucas didn’t even worry about it. He didn’t even say sorry!

Q: How do you think Tou Tou is going to feel about that?

“This is not a nice thing what you did, Lucas. I’m very disappointed that you did not listen to me, and that you were not careful with something that did not belong to you. I’m also sad, because this was something important to me, but more so because I expected you to understand and respect that. Please, never do that to another person”, said Tou Tou.

A: Disappointed.

Chapter 2: Bought without Permission

So Tou Tou told Lucas not to break someone else’s belongings. Now he is going to respect that. But not all, because Lucas has another mean idea. He’ll keep doing whatever his ideas tell him. His mean idea is that he wants to go to a store where he can go there and then safely go back to his house. But Lucas didn’t even ask for permission first. He promised he would stay in the house or garage. But once he got to the garage…

He broke his promise and went to the store. Uh-oh!

Q: Do you think Tou Tou is going to be mad at Lucas?

“Lucas? Where are you?”, searched Tou Tou, but Lucas was nowhere to be seen. Tou Tou got worried, and then he saw that the garage door was open. He got into the car and went searching. It didn’t take long for him to find Lucas, walking on the street and away from home.

“Lucas! Why did you leave the house when I asked you not to? This is not good. How am I going to trust you to play by yourself when you don’t keep your word? I’m going to give you permission to do the right thing now. Are you going to go back home by yourself?” said Tou Tou.

A: Yes, of course!

Chapter 3: Teleportation Lucas

So Tou Tou told Lucas not to break anyone’s belongings, and not to leave the house without permission. But Lucas still has another idea. He wants to teleport to Nether with a teleporter.

But he doesn’t have permission!

The Nether was too hot. Lucas was sweating there. He decided to dunk himself on a bucket of cold water. But the water in the bucket had evaporated. The Nether is too hot for water. That happens when you play Minecraft too. You can check that up the next time you play Minecraft.

“Lucas left the house by himself again?” sighed Tou Tou. But as he was about to get into the car one more time, he noticed something completely out of the ordinary. There was a Minecraft Nether Portal right outside their home. “Uh-oh! That’s not good. That’s not good at all…”

Tou Tou jumped into the portal. It didn’t take long to find Lucas. A little boy is out of place in that inhospitable landscape.

“Come back, Lucas!” screamed Tou Tou. He pulled Lucas through the portal back home. “This still qualifies as leaving the house”.

Chapter 4: Hitting and Kicking

So Lucas is feeling pretty mean today. He has broken Tou Tou’s belongings, went to a store without permission, and even teleported to the Nether without permission. And Lucas still has an idea. Ugh!!! His idea is that he wants to hurt other people. That is mega-iper-super-very mean.

But he started hitting and kicking at school!

Lucas was taken to the principal’s office for causing so much trouble. The principal explained that hitting other people was not okay, and was never to be done again. He would call Lucas’ parents to sort it out.

Tou Tou arrived and had a conversation with the principal. He then asked Lucas what happened.

- “Lucas, why did you hit and kick other people?”

- “Because I thought it was fun.”

- “Well, it’s not fun. It hurts when you do that, and it makes people sad.”

- “Hahahahahaha!!!!!”

- “I’ll try this again when you’re not so excited. Until we’re able to talk, no video games”.

- “Nooooooooooooo!!!!!”

Chapter 5: Mean Words

Kagghhhhhhhh!!!!! Lucas now wants to say mean words! That IS mean. Too much unexpected stuff today, Lucas!

Lucas was saying mean words to others. He didn’t worry about hurting or making people upset. He was too caught up with this idea of being mean as something fun.

Chapter 6: Mad Tou Tou

“Hey Lucas, Look at all the bad stuff you’ve made today: You broke my belongings, went to a store without permission, teleported to Nether without permission, hit other people, and said mean words. Please, never do all that again.“

Now Lucas sadly went to do his homework. After that, excitement filled his heart and he ran upstairs to play video games.

Tou Tou thought: "Maybe I can remove Lucas's screen time for today because he had done a lot of unexpected stuff today.

Until...

"I'm taking off your screen time for causing so much trouble!" called Tou Tou. Lucas couldn't believe what he just heard! Lucas sadly went to do other stuff that was fun but not so fun.

Making better decisions leads to better results (and fewer repercussions). Better decisions might leave you with more options and flexibility. Conversely, a good decision might shut off other options but open up a new opportunity. When you make better decisions, it also means you're learning from your mistakes!
